DeLonghi PAC CS6000 Split Air Conditioner
Suitable for rooms up to 6m x 8m, or rooms with bigger heat loads, the DeLonghi PAC CS6000 split system air conditioner expels the hot air via a 3m connection (supplied), using environmentally-friendly refrigerant gas.
The hot air goes through to a condenser box sited outside, which sits on castors.
The PAC CS6000 is remote-controlled, monitoring the room for the best temperature via its Auto diagnostic System, which automatically ensures the optimum ventilation speed.
There are 4 fan speeds, including a Sleep Function that keeps you quietly cool at night.
The DeLonghi PAC CS6000 also acts as a dehumidifying unit, extracting up to 55.3L a day.
It's supplied with all the accessories you need to install it, with Easy Fit connectors, and it operates off the household mains socket.
There's an electronic timer, so you can programme it to come on, for example, an hour before you go to bed.
A quick guide to air conditioning Unlike fans that simply move the air around, air conditioners actually reduce the temperature.
The hot air is drawn into the unit over an evaporator which contains a low pressure and very cold refrigerant.
The cool air is then blown out through the front vents while the hot air is expelled through a rear hose.
Mobile units like this one can be simply plugged into the mains socket.
You need to make sure the hot air is extracted, along the hose, through a small hole in the wall.
In the short term, however, you can direct the hose through the window or door.
